Woodland Dusk

Gushu Dianhong

Tasting notes: Pecan pie, rye toast, baked oranges, and a soothing, malty woodland creek finish.

Price range: $30.90 through $235.00

Cultivar: Da Ye Zhong
Altitude: 1600m
Region: Fengqing, Yunnan, China

A wonderful gold bud Dianhong crafted from 300-year-old trees. Grown at over 1600mm this is a high vitality tea, but the age of the trees and high quality pickings have tempered the intensity to something sweet and tender at the same time.  The taste is complex, the aroma evocative and the finish delightfully lingering. It’s the kind of black tea that makes me want to sit very still when preparing and drinking, giving full attention to the experience.
