Snail Shell Spring

Biluochun

Tasting notes: This tea has a lovely light mineral astringency that balances its umami notes. Vegetal, dry grass with a savoury crisp iceberg lettuce finish. A wonderful brew for long hot summer days.

The original Biluochun from the source: Xishandao in Lake Tai.  This is the birthplace of this well-loved Chinese green tea. While less tightly furled than their Mingqian counterpart, and with noticeably less visible downy buds, the leaves of the Guyu (pre-rains) Biluochun are slender, twisted, and gently curled.  The tea is made entirely by hand by master Shen and his wife that have been growing tea on the island for 60 years and making it for 30.  This tea is a treasured find by our supplier, as every part of its growth, harvest, and production are wholesome and tended to with care.
